
Local Services Boards were formed originally under the Northern Services Board Act (NSBA) to facilitate the delivery of basic community services in unincorporated areas in Northern Ontario. A Local Services Board has the authority under the NSBA to deliver any combination of nine (9) approved powers within a specific geographical area. Currently the Shebandowan Local Services Board provides Fire Protection Services and Emergency Telecommunications (911).
Our LSB has five (5) Board Members, elected by the public for a period of one (3) year term beginning October 1 and ending on September 30. This term of office coincides with the Fiscal Year of the Board. Your Current Board Members are:
